Daily Social Media Routine

A daily social media routine that will help you build your following without consuming all your time. Too good to be true? Absolutely not. In fact, if you do a few simple activities every day you can see success in less than 1 hour per day.

Daily Social Media Routine

I am not a big believer in the “create as you go” type of social media posting.  This is where you create, share, and interact with your following all in the same day. Many studies have shown that trying to create content on the fly every day results in creators not being as consistent as those who pre-plan their content. Therefore, I recommend taking one day to plan and one day to create all your social media posts for the week. This allows you the freedom to eliminate this step from your daily routine.

All you need to do is sit down for one hour a week and plan out what you want to post on your social media accounts for the upcoming week. Make sure you write out all your content and make a list of any images you might need. Then take one hour to take your photos or create images.

Now that you have all the content you will need for the upcoming week you can focus your daily activities on building and connecting with your following. If you chose to schedule your content, make sure that you are available to interact with your following during that time. Being on the platform and engaging with people when your content is posted one of the most important steps in getting the algorithm to favor your content.

Helpful Tip: Keep your focus on one platform and pour your energy in there. Being on every social media platform will split your time and your results.  Do not fall into this pitfall. However, if you create one piece of content that can be shared in other places, then do that.  Once you get to a place where you are comfortable on one platform then you can expand to another one.

5 Steps To Creating A Successful Daily Social Media Routine

#1 Follow Up Comments And Messages (5-10 mins)

Take time to check your accounts for comments and messages and follow up with them. This means answering any questions they might have, thanking people for positive comments, and addressing negative comments in a respectful way. Try to keep the conversation going with people who comment as the algorithm loves this interaction.

#2 Warm Up The Algorithm (5-10 mins)

Next, you want to warm up the algorithm by commenting, liking, and engaging with your current follower’s content. Just because you are gaining new followers doesn’t mean you should be ignoring your current following. Keep building and nurturing relationships as these are the people who will be sharing and commenting on your content and that helps you reach new followers.

#3 Publish Your Social Media Post (5 mins)

If you haven’t set up your post to automatically be shared, then this is the time you should post your content. Also, take this time to share your content on your other social media channels for extra exposure. Make sure you have a call to action on all posts. This will help you get more comments which will make the algorithm favor your content.

#4 Engage, Like & Comment (5-10 mins)

Immediately after you post, start looking for new people to interact and engage with. Start conversations with people and engage with their content. I like to pick people that have just recently posted themselves as I know they are still on the platform or just recently were. Most of the time when you engage with people’s content, they will go check out you. Hopefully, they will like your content or engage with it in some way. When doing this, you want to try your best to start a two-way conversation.

It is important that steps 1 through 4 are done one right after the other, but step 5 can be done later.

#5 Check Your Analytics (5-10 mins)

You need to know what is working for you and what isn’t and this is where your analytics will come into play.   Make a note of what is getting the most likes, comments, and shares. When you are planning the next week’s content, make sure you create more of what is working.  This will help your account grow faster. Remember you want to create content your following loves so looking at your analytics is going to be a huge help.

Daily Social Media Routine – Create Success In Less Than An Hour

You also want to make sure you are periodically checking in on your account throughout the day and responding to comments that come in.  I know it is not always possible but responding to comments and getting a conversation going on your posts is one of the things all social media algorithms favor. So, make your best effort to stay on top of commenting on your comments. LOL.

When you take these steps, you will find that not only do you see better results, but you will also save tons of time. Can it really be that simple? Yes. It really is that simple. So, what are you waiting for?  Start implementing this system today!
