Think about a curiosity post like this: your friend posts a picture of an item you like.  You probably want to know where they got it, right?  

So naturally, you would reach out and ask them about it.

It could be anything from makeup to clothing or even items for the home.

Once your friend tells you what it is, you go out and buy it because you wanted one or wanted the results they were getting from the item.

Now did your friend mean to sell you that item? No… but they did, and you didn’t feel sold, did you?

That, my friends, is the power of word of mouth marketing.

Let me give you 2 different examples of the same situation using the same product — a protein shake — so you can see the difference.

Why did I wait so long to start trying to lose weight?  I can’t believe that in only a few months I have already been able to get into my skinny jeans. Now the big question is where should I go show them off? Looking for ideas.

You can see the difference in the 2 posts.  Now let’s look at how people interact with each post.

Let’s just say someone looking to lose weight stumbles across both posts online. 

With the first post, you gave away all the details and with it your power.

The post also sounds a little desperate and like you are trying to convince someone to buy something.

However, let’s just say they do happen to be interested.

The very first thing they are going to do is go right over to google and look up the company and or the product.

They will find all sorts of reviews (good and bad) and in the end maybe they buy it but probably not from you.

They are going to buy directly from company X or from the web page they found the review on.

So, you just lost a sale.

Think about how many times you have posted your company name online and how many potential sales went somewhere else.

You don’t know and you never will because when you give up all the information, you lose control of the sale and the ability to follow up.

Kind of makes you sick doesn’t it? It’s ok — it did me too the first time I heard this concept.

Now, let’s look at the second post.

Chances are this post would catch your attention if you were looking to lose weight and you would comment or message the person and say “What are you doing?”

This has just done two very important things #1- got them talking to you asking for information and #2 – told you they were interested in what you have to offer.

This is super powerful and now you have someone who is totally open to talking to you about your product.

It also feels better and is so easy anyone can do it which means you have a higher chance of someone saying “Hey, I can do that!” and joining your company.

Now, which situation would you rather have?

Lifestyle Photos — Share what your life looks like.  Your family, what your likes are, hobbies, etc. People love to feel like they can relate to you.  These posts will help with that.

Business Photos — Share photos of you attending a training, meeting, or trip.  Make sure to omit any logos or signs that would give away your company name. Share the experience and benefits of what it looks like to be an entrepreneur.

Educational Posts — Share posts with tips and tricks that other people can benefit from. Serve your followers.  Make sure use an image with these posts as well because posts with images get more interaction than ones without an image.

Live Videos — Live videos can be used to share the same things as listed above and are one of the hottest online tools right now.

Now that you know the power of creating curiosity posts on social media, start using them today!
